Several contributors and the editors of the recently published third edition of Cruel But Not Unusual: Violence in Families in Canada will explore the concept of intentionally marginalized communities in relation to their work and experiences with Black communities, non-status, refugee, and immigrant women, and children and youth in care. What does the concept mean and how does it play out? What are these communities experiencing and are our systems helping and/or causing further harm? What are these communities and advocates doing to bring about change and how can we support them? These and other questions will be explored in a lively panel discussion.
