Beliz Açan Osman
Senior Researcher
Beliz joined HQC in September 2010. As a senior researcher, Beliz specializes in using administrative data to conduct health services research and providing analytical support to research partners. Beliz’s responsibilities include guiding research teams through every aspect of the research process, from data access to establishment of analytical methodologies and development of study protocols. She also focuses on contributing to the foundational work around improving the infrastructure needed for research
During her time, Beliz supported development of multiple health system indicators and worked within various research collaborations that describe the quality of care and health service utilization patterns of people in Saskatchewan. She has completed her “First Nations Principles of OCAP®” training offered through First Nations Information Governance Centre, in 2019.
Beliz received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Bilkent University, Turkey, and her Master of Arts degree in Economics, with a specialization in health economics, from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to HQC, she worked as a research coordinator at the School of Public Health at the University of Saskatchewan and as a statistical assistant at the Saskatchewan Research Data Centre (SKY-RDC). She also served as the Co-lead, Data and Data Services Platform of the Saskatchewan Centre for Patient Oriented Research (SCPOR).
