Donica Janzen
Senior Researcher
Donica Janzen joined the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council in August 2022 as a senior researcher. She is an adjunct professor in the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan and a member of the Canadian Network for Observational Drug Effect Studies (CNODES). Donica specializes in pharmacoepidemiology and the real-world effectiveness of medications.
A pharmacist by training, Donica has a wide variety of clinical experience, including in rural/remote and tertiary hospital pharmacy. She has overseen several quality improvement projects in the health care system. Donica has worked extensively with administrative data, and brings research experience in drug utilization, comparative effectiveness of medications and validation of administrative prescription claims data.
Donica received her PhD (Pharmacy, Concentration in Pharmacoepidemiology) in 2022 from the University of Manitoba. During her graduate studies, she also completed the Manitoba Training Program for Health Services Research. In addition, she has a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Saskatchewan.
