The Health Quality Council’s 2015-16 annual report showcases our work over the past year in three main areas:
- Building sustainable improvement through knowledge and education;
- Developing measurement and evaluation systems to provide timely feedback;
- Connecting people across the health system and providing quality improvement leadership.
“2015 was a year of defining and determining new ways for HQC to fulfill our mission to accelerate improvement in the quality of health care throughout our province. This encompasses multiple aspects of health care – from the clinical and operational sides, to our fruitful research partnerships with academic institutions,” says Dr. Susan Shaw, Board Chair of HQC.
“Above all, HQC’s focus remains on making health care better and safer for patients and their families. The patient is the key part of our health system and, in many ways, what matters most to the patient is what should matter most to our system.”
The report also delves into provincial initiatives, such as Safety Alert/Stop the Line, Emergency Department Waits and Patient Flow, and the Saskatchewan Centre for Patient-Oriented Research.
